Editing is the central process in the work chain of a film project.
In this phase, all components
(script, staging, performance, image design, sound, music, etc.) are brought together to form the overall work, the film.
This is an incredibly exciting moment.
This is where the film is "made".
Born in Germany in 1963.
Education:
1985-1995 Studied editing (diploma) and camera at the University of Music and Performing Arts / Vienna
Professional experience:
Member of the AEA(film editing association) since April 2024
Part of the Navigatorfilm team since March 2019
Freelance film editor, cameraman and consultant for digital long-term archiving since 2017
Since 2009 member of the technical committee of the IASA ("International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives")
1997 - 2017 employed at the Austrian Media Library (then "Phonothek")
- construction and management of the video studio
- responsible for the digitisation and mass storage of the Austrian Media Library
- concept development of "DVA-Profession " (management system for professional video digitisation)
- concept development of "DLP " (system for long-term digital archiving)
- publications, lectures and teaching activities mainly on the topics of "digitisation" and "digital long-term archiving"
1994 -1997 employed as film editor (analogue) / Institute for Scientific Film / Vienna
